York School of Ministry is now welcoming new students for September!
York School of Ministry offers theological and ministerial education on behalf of the Diocese of York, for lay ministries, those in discernment for lay and ordained ministry and those who would like to explore more about their faith and discipleship.
Feedback from our students over the last two years suggests that being part of YSOM is both faith enhancing and life affirming and not only widens personal horizons, but opens to the door to a more fulfilled and active ministry in the church.
YSOM is now recruiting for September 2020 with courses being offered initially online with a move to a blended learning approach with additional face to face teaching as the social distancing rules are relaxed.
Our new leaflets can be downloaded from our website by clicking here.
For a little more information on who these courses are most suitable for please read on!
Our Higher Education Certificate, Diploma and Exploring your Call programmes all start with the above module which is suitable for RPAs, Church Wardens, Parish Administrators, Children & Youth workers and congregation members wishing to explore their faith and extend their knowledge and understanding.
There are opportunities for all students to talk with staff about vocation and to explore the different ministry roles including lay ministries and ordination.
The Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Theology, Mission and Ministry brings together practical contextual ministry and mission with further biblical studies, theology, liturgy, ethics and mission studies. This programme is suitable for Readers and Clergy wishing to reflect on their own ministerial practice and advance or refresh their knowledge and understanding.
