St Oswald’s PCC votes to support Ryedale Charities Together in 2025.
The Parochial Church Council has decided that certain collections are to go to the local Ryedale Charities Together in 2025. These are the collections at the Harvest Festival service, the carol singing round the village, and 50% of the collection at the Christmas Carol Service.
In previous years these collections have been passed to a variety of national, international and local charities. The PCC wanted to focus more accurately on local needs: Ryedale Charities Together supports a range of local activities – for more information see below.
Collections at the Christian Aid service and at the Remembrance Sunday service will continue to go to Christian Aid and the Royal British Legion respectively. All other collections will go to support St Oswald’s church. St Oswald’s is also a collection point for donations to the Middlesbrough foodbank. Non-perishable foods (tinned items) may be deposited in the box at the back of the Church.
A very effective method of supporting our church is through regular giving: the church can claim Gift Aid tax relief on your gift – and so can you! If you fill in a tax return, your tax will be reduced pro rata to your gift aid.
Ryedale Charities Together is made up of 6 Charities. Ryedale Community Food Bank; Ryedale Carers Support; Next Steps; Ryedale Community Transport; Ryedale Special Families; Sight Support Ryedale.
